The 2016 elections are more than 21 months away — many things can and will happen between now and then. But as a measure of where the race stands today, at a moment of Republican triumphalism after the 2014 mid-terms, the latest head-to-head poll numbers courtesy of the Washington Post/ABC News say a lot:
You could argue that Hillary’s showing is a function of high name recognition, but then again, Mitt Romney and that guy named Bush are not exactly political unknowns. In addition, the fact that she is so well known, with her laundry already strewn across the front lawn of the White House for all to see and sift through, suggests that it’s might be hard to bring those numbers down.
Of course, there’s always Benghazi.
