Ten warmest 12-month periods have all occurred since Oct. 2013

201506

The latest monthly data are out from NOAA, and they tell a familiar story:

  • June of 2015 was the warmest June on record, just as February of 2015 was the warmest February, March 2015 was the warmest March and May 2015 was the warmest May.
  • January-June of 2015 was the warmest first six months of any year on record.
  • The period from July 2014 to June 2015 period was the warmest 12-month period on record.
  • Last year, 2014, was the warmest calendar year on record, but it appears quite likely that 2015 will leave it in the shade, so to speak.
  • Data and climate models warn that one of the strongest El Nino patterns on record may be forming off the coast of Peru, adding to the probability of 2015 ending as the warmest on record.
  • The 10 warmest 12-month periods on record have all occurred since October 2013:

So spin it any way you want. Take refuge in false claims of cooling, or try to pretend that we don’t know with near-certainty what is causing a pace of climate change unprecedented in ice core, tree ring or other long-term data. Attribute it all to a bizarre conspiracy theory if you wish — it doesn’t matter.

What matters is that some 40 years ago, scientists began warning of a significant and destructive heating of the global climate, and while scoffers have scoffed and deniers denied, the climate has kept on proving those predictions correct.

Twelve hundred comments and despite the clear evidence, the wrong-wing is convinced that nothing is wrong and nothing should be done.

Someday, I hope they realize this line has been fed to them by those with substantial financial interest in preventing any changes. Moves to maximizing renewable energy, maximizing efficiency, reducing dependence on hydrocarbons benefit everyone, except those who's business model is based entirely on extraction and consumption of hydrocarbon products.

But even if the planet is currently warming:  1) There's no proof the activities of man are any way responsible (sorry, there simply isn't, no matter how much you protest) 2)  That a warming planet will cause any of the dire consequences we've been warned about.

Guess you don't understand science.

In short he likes what 5+1 deal.  He thinks Obama has done the right thing.

Top Ten 12-month periods in the past 22 months?  Uh, that means you're counting many of those months multiple times in your 'Top 10'.

Which only goes to show how data can be manipulated to show whatever you want.  And that's even if the data collection methods are sound, and the data isn't fudged.  Which, of course, the Church of Climate Change followers have shown they're not above doing.

But even if the planet is currently warming:  1) There's no proof the activities of man are any way responsible (sorry, there simply isn't, no matter how much you protest) 2)  That a warming planet will cause any of the dire consequences we've been warned about.

Oh sure, the results of global warming sound apocalyptic.  The problem is, there's no proof of any of it.  The planet has been much warmer than it is now, and there's no evidence anything the climate alarmists warn us about happened during those periods.

Don't forget, CO2 is as natural in our atmosphere as O2.  It is NOT a pollutant.  All plant life on earth requires CO2 to survive, just as we need O2 to survive.

AJC ALERT:  Wingfield has succumbed to GOP campaign against woman's reproductive rights by buying into to the Planned Parenthood is  selling  fetus parts hoax. NY Times unlike Wingfield tells the true story in a lead editorial today:

""""The full video of the lunch meeting, over two hours long and released by the Center for Medical Progress after complaints by Planned Parenthood, shows something very different from what these critics claim. Clearly, the shorter version was edited to eliminate statements by Dr. Nucatola explaining that Planned Parenthood does not profit from tissue donation, which requires the clear consent of the patient. Planned Parenthood affiliates only accept money — between $30 and $100 per specimen, according to Dr. Nucatola — to cover costs associated with collecting and transporting the tissue. “This is not something with any revenue stream that affiliates are looking at,” she said. Under federal law, facilities may be reimbursed for costs associated with fetal tissue donation, like transportation and storage.

According to a letter sent by Roger Evans, a lawyer for Planned Parenthood, to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the video is a result of a yearslong campaign of deception. The head of the Center for Medical Progress, David Daleiden, created a fake company called Biomax Procurement Services almost three years ago for the purpose of tricking Planned Parenthood employees, the letter alleges, even setting up exhibits at Planned Parenthood’s national conferences. The letter also says Biomax offered a Planned Parenthood affiliate $1,600 for a fetal liver and thymus, presumably to trap the affiliate in the act of accepting a high payment for fetal tissue. The affiliate declined."""""

Single women getting pregnant with no means of support need Planned Parenthood. GOP solution -hold a bottle bettween you legs and just say no. If you get raped, it's God's wish.

Georgia church was vandalized with threatening anti-LGBT messages this week after its gay pastor received the first same-sex marriage license in Richmond County. ...The words “Burn Leviticus 18:22 Lies” were scrawled across the front of the building. Another message pointed to Leviticus 18:20 and warned, “You’ll burn.” The verses the vandals chose from Leviticus are often cited to argue that the Bible condemns homosexuality as an “abomination” and that LGBT people are worthy of “death.”

Some choice quotes here from the Con . . . er . . . Weekly Standard:

"The Post poll found this in a three-candidate race in the general election:  Hillary Clinton 46 percent, Jeb Bush 30 percent, Trump 20 percent.  Trump took more votes from Bush than from Clinton. One on one, Clinton beat Bush 50-44 percent."

AND

"Republican elites need to come grips with the real Trump threat and not make things worse.  Which is what they have been doing so far."

AND

"Calling on Trump to drop out of the race or insisting he is unqualified to be president because of his harsh language zinging John McCain and immigrants from Mexico isn’t working and probably never will.  It’s more likely to cause him to stay in the race.  He does have gigantic ego, after all."

AND

"Republicans need to think about who backs Trump at the moment.  It’s a big chunk of the GOP base, at least the anti-immigrant wing.  If Republicans lose these folks next year in the general election, they’re doomed."

Hillary, now trails Bush, Walker and Rubio in three key battleground states and with Obama continuing in negative approval numbers it doesn't appear well for Democrats going into 016. The drubbing Democrats took in the last mid-term may indeed have been a harbinger of 016.

Paul42

@Recon2/3

Found your source.  Business Insider.  Why are Colorado, Iowa and Virginia 'key battleground states?"  Because they are not one of the states with 242 electoral votes that have voted for the Democrat every single time since 1992.  242 electoral votes. Given 102 electoral votes have gone for the Republican since 1992 and there are 570 electoral votes available, if past patterns hold, the Democratic candidate need pick up only 28 of the remaining 194 votes left.

They are key battleground states for the Republicans as they've got a much, much larger deficit to overcome to even think about winning.

Sanders is pushing Hillary, to the far left and her integrity issues are hurting her with moderate Democrats. Black voters along with millennial voters could be much harder for Democrats to get to the polls next year.

Who can possibly believe Hillary Clinton is authentic when she routinely makes it so obvious how utterly phony and inauthentic she actually is?

She pretends she’s just like the rest of us. But she’s not — and she doesn’t want to be.

Look at her travel style. After years of luxurious living in the White House followed by years of traveling on private jets courtesy of wealthy donors, Clinton isn’t interested in coach class and the Holiday Inn.

But, still, she pretends. She rode in a van to Iowa! And she pulled her own red suitcase out to the JetBlue gate.

Was anyone fooled?

Well, actually, if you will look around this blog...yeah, a BUNCH of folks were fooled.  And, will vote for her next fall.

@DownInAlbany Albany, they don't care. What surprises me most, though, is anyone touting her as president with pride. I would expect a hard-core democrat to just vote for her and leave the rhetoric in the closet. She's the strongest candidate the dems have and that's the deal. Most rational people are not proud of it. It is what it is.
