OK, the real Trump for President campaign begins today

donald_trump_1

If Donald Trump has promised not to pursue a third-party candidacy for president, as media reports predict, that’s good news for the Republican Party. Even with all his money and media attention, Trump could not have won going third-party, but in a general election he certainly could have torpedoed whatever hope the GOP may have.

(UPDATE: Trump has indeed signed the pledge.)

So congratulations to Reince Priebus. The RNC chair helped to engineer this effort to keep Trump contained in the GOP corral, and it has worked.

“So tell Mr. Priebus what he has won, Don!”

monmouth1OK.  What Mr. Priebus has won is a Donald Trump who now honestly believes that he can win the nomination, and who is now intent on doing whatever it takes to become the nominee and take the fight all the way to the convention if necessary. There’s no other way to interpret this. Signing the pledge is the act of a practical, goal-oriented businessman rather than a political gadfly. Forget the campaign speech back on June 16 — that was show business. This is the real announcement of Trump as a serious contender, someone willing to compromise rather than take the risk of being excluded from primary ballots. Any chance of him bowing out before Iowa and New Hampshire is probably gone as of today.

Maybe this all began as a vanity operation, a way to build the Trump brand and enjoy some time in the media spotlight; maybe it didn’t. Whatever the case, it’s not that now.  Somewhere along the line, the adoring crowds and strong polls convinced Trump that this is achievable, that he could actually be president of the United States of America. And I suspect that once committed, he doesn’t take such things lightly.

That’s what Mr. Priebus has won.

You liberal lunatics who still stand behind and defend this Clinton criminal almost leave us speechless.

Almost, huh? what would it take to render you completely mute? Admitting that seeing Hils in a loose-fitting pantsuit makes me rock-hard? Thinking of her laugh--sorry, her "cackle"--as a siren song?

Just let me know and I'll be more than happy to oblige, Vindy.

The 173k was somewhat less than expected.

You should care about the markets inasmuch as they are one of the indicators of the moods of the markets or the 'animal spirits' that the Fed is looking at in determining whether to tighten rates and try to bring the plane down to land safely after 7 years - with no guaranteed working landing gear.

Yes, 'the markets' were so effective at predicting the economic disaster of the Bush Depression.

@LeninTime @fedup52 I don't give that much credence to the stocks.

I have faith on the inventory and prices of raw material and how good are selling of finished goods.

Small truck sales are very strong which in turn means housing market is strong too.  That is the true indicator of the economy.

There is a kind of perverse asymmetry that has set in with stock prices and disappointing economic news. Since the Fed started playing this game of leaking its plans and hair-splitting messages about an eventual rate rise, the markets started factoring that in, which has given rise to a perverse dynamic in which bad economic indicators causes the Fed to back off on the planned rise, thus setting off a burst of stock market speculation and sending the markets soaring. In other words, a situation where the worse the underlying fundamentals of the economy are, the more giddy the stock market.

As for the raw material prices, this fall in prices is a prime indicator of deflationary tendencies in the economy at large, the very thing that indicates what a disastrous move a Fed rate hike would be right now.

t-square,

Of what do you speak?

Remember, in America, there are a set of laws in place.

There are not a special set of laws and exemptions for xtians (or any other superstition).

Besides, she might be indicted, as the government and the public already have equivalent evidence that convicted the likes of Petraus.

LOL

Petraeus knowingly gave classified information to his mistress to help her with her book. Intent can clearly be shown.

Nothing Clinton has done even comes close to rising to that standard.

There is the key.

For the loud, loutish minority that get their 'news' from rabid opinion sources and never bother to review any factual information (too long and too many big words) they are content to let the 'opinion source' be their reference and trust whatever the opinion of the day as presented.

AND THEY LET THESE FOOLS VOTE!!!

You don't know what she did because she mixed her  State Dept emails up with her personal emails and then deleted 3000 of them.

@Normd Well, they did announce on Wed that they would start issuing them today...but my understanding is that there is some doubt as to their legality.

A  security guard for Donald Trump punched a protester on Thursday in the midst of a demonstration criticizing the Republican presidential candidate for his anti-immigrant rhetoric, NY1 Noticias reported.

The station aired footage of the demonstrator, Efrain Galicia, chasing after the guard, who was carrying a sign he took from the protesters. The guard then turns and hits Galicia in the face before walking away. Galicia is seen backing up a few steps before being held back by another guard.

Seems Trumps thugs are getting more violent.  Perhaps the demonstrators should open carry and when the Trump thugs take their property, then they can "stand their ground"

Oh wait, I forgot, these are "those people" and not white, therefore Trump's people cannot be "thugs" because they are white and taking things from non-whites in peaceful protests is okey-dokey.

News From Campaign Hillary: AKA Nana-bot:

No one attended Hillary's "rousing" speech after which she punched her own security guard in an effort to let her out, so she could meet the public.  The security guards, trained in political "science" decided that it would be better for the campaign is the news media reported on how genuine she was with the public, rather than risking video that would destroy the image the media (and Clinton campaign) are collaborating to convey.

In video, this is the Clinton campaign strategy:

If you're Hillary, and are favored in the polls to win, there's no sense in doing something risky, like appearing in public.

Basically, yeah.  She can just wait and begin campaigning, say, six or eight months before the election.

I think that's plenty of time, don't you?

@Nick_Danger @Yes_Jesus_Can @KUTGF

I think she will be handled for six to eight months.  Campaign?  Meh.

But I still think that by December this year she won't even be a viable candidate.  She's too mendacious, and the public knows it cannot trust anything she says nor comprehend whatever principles she talks about at any given moment.

You're not interested at all.

If you wanted to know you could find any number of news stories talking about the FBI investigation--stories from news organizations that aren't collaborating already with Democrats and the Clinton campaign.

@Yes_Jesus_Can You're making up the future by predicting something that isn't going to happen.  There's no "indictment" coming.  There were no Federal laws broken.  But if you read from sources that don't make stuff up, you'd have more knowledge.

I'm still curious what crime you think she could be indicted for.  Or are you just trolling.
