To live in a world in which Trump cruises to a landslide…

-7

“Conservatives have to end their intellectual isolation and self-delusions. They need to stop pretending that climate change is not occurring (the extent and the proposed solutions can be rationally discussed) or imagining that there is a market for pre-New-Deal-size government. Conservatives must end their infatuation with phony news, crank conspiracy theories, demonization of well-meaning leaders and mean rhetoric. It’s time to grow up, turn off Sean Hannity, get off toxic social media and start learning about the world as it is. (Read a book authored by someone without a talk show, spend time with non-Republicans, take an online course in economics.) Confirmation bias has become pathological.”

— Conservative blogger Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post

Yeah, that’s been a problem. One reason that political debate has atrophied in this country is because too many in the conservative world have chosen to conduct their politics in another dimension of their own making. You cannot debate or discuss issues with them because the facts that exist in our dimension do not exist in their dimension, and vice versa.

Meanwhile, though, in a completely unrelated development regarding Hillary Clinton’s email server, prosecutors and FBI agents have told Washington Post reporters that they “have so far found scant evidence that the leading Democratic presidential candidate intended to break classification rules.” That’s important, because without evidence of intent no prosecution is likely. So the right-wing fantasy of seeing Hillary in an orange jumpsuit seems pretty far-fetched.

Nor is there any evidence to support claims by a Romanian hacker who claimed that he had succeeded in breaching Clinton’s private system. Fox News had earlier reported the hacker’s claims that he and others had repeatedly penetrated Clinton’s system, gaining access to classified matter, but nothing like that appears to have taken place.

Finally, in a second completely unrelated item, we have this from Rush Limbaugh earlier this week:

“Let me give you one little thing: My instinctive feeling right now is that Trump is gonna win, beat Hillary badly, that it could be landslide proportions.”

Like I said, neither of the two last items has anything to do with the first. And Hillary killed Vince Foster.

An economics professor in a plane was writing differential equations on paper.  A woman sitting next to him got scared and told some one.  The plane was delayed.  Why are people so ignorant?

BTW the professor was Italian and Olive skin.  That did not help either.

@rimsky  Yep.  Saw that.  The professor was working with trigonometric equations.

Bernie is doing more damage to Hillary's campaign than Trump. is he going third party?

Bernie knows not what he does, imho.  As I mentioned earlier, imo, he sees reality through an abstract lens, and he has a large ego to control, and his wife, imo, urges him to take the approach he is taking.  They are both politically somewhat naive, imo. Trump is having a field day in using Bernie's negative words about Hillary to his advantage in winning the Presidency.

There you are again viewing Bernie Sanders as though the Democratic Party is doing all the favors to him and not him doing them some of the favors for them too.

Deny it if you must, but you show no interest whatsoever in examining what is actually going on with the Sanders run and the attempt to funnel his supporters behind Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party.

It is a matter of seeing both Bernie and the Democratic Party in their proper perspectives, Donnie.  In other words, seeing in degrees and seeing truth, thereby, by seeing these subtle variances from what is necessary.

I am not saying that Bernie has not helped the Democratic Party, nor am I saying that Bernie has not sharpened Hillary's political skills.  I, in fact, believe he has done both.  However, I also believe that Bernie is not as conscious of how to be politically measured, as Hillary is capable of being, for the benefit of the political end goal.

Try to think beyond simple heroes and villains, please.  See my above post for more detail on this perception I have of your thinking and Donnie's thinking related to the political tactics Bernie Sanders is using, and how he is using them (degree).

I don't know for sure, but I almost suspect that the emerging Trump-Clinton race, being what it is, has resulted in another bump in the road for the planned hand-off of the Bernie Sanders support over to the Hillary Clinton campaign. Because of the extraordinary circumstances of the Trump candidacy, there is not going to be as much of a need to appeal to the left base represented by Sanders and his supporters as perhaps was originally thought because the Clinton strategy is going to be to go for a knockout blow against Trump by appealing to the more moderate Republican voters uncomfortable with supporting a quasi-fascist and racist demagogue, which is more Clinton's comfort zone anyway. My suspicion is that this may be causing Bernie Sanders to have to make more demands as the primaries wind down and the race starts to turn to a preparation for the convention or risk losing credibility in the eyes of his supporters. It's just a guess. This could have been the plan all along. Or, alternately, maybe Bernie Sanders is just a crotchety, grumpy man who wants to be respected for his services during this process. I don't know. But either way, the way it's shaping up is that the preponderance of the favors done is on the side of Bernie Sanders for the Democratic Party and not the other way around.

I am not trying to get Bernie to stop running against Hillary. In fact, I believe he should stay in the primaries until they play out the will of the people.  However, it is HOW Bernie is running his continuing campaign against Hillary that I am addressing.  I do not think he is considering enough the political endgame.

Bernie is doing more damage to Hillary's campaign than Trump.

Nonsense. Bernie still being in the race is good for Hillary. It gives the corporate media something to fixate on other than the right wing's notion of What Is Not Great About Hils.

The best thing for her, politically, is for this technically still-in-it candidate to continue his campaigning through to CA. Once he's truly mathematically eliminated the horse trading begins. That's all good for all concerned.

@VC,

I agree. Bernie isn't hurting Hc. Making HC earn the nomination will only help here.

@Donnie_Pinko I could... but my heart's just not in it...

Where the comparison differs is Putin's just as responsible for his image as anybody.

Whereas Chris Kyle and Edward Snowden were lionized and villianized by outside forces looking to use them as political tools.

@Donnie_Pinko @foo2u I'm not ashamed to admit I was on board with the painting of Edward Snowden as a traitor at first... I've "evolved"... the man is a national hero... That is if you care about the truth.

I lived in Los Angeles for two years back in the early nineties and spent a lot of time there both before and after actually living there.  Traffic would back up for miles and when finally getting to the bottle neck it would be such things as an overheated car or flat tire off the side of the road.

Yesterday I came through town from up North and traffic was backed up from the 75/85 merge down to the Grady Curve.

Some guy in a pickup that should have been in the junk yard was flamed out in the middle lane with another truck using a chain to try to pull him out of the way.

The moral of the story is, there is no fixing the traffic in Atlanta just as there is no fixing it in LA.

You can build rail, push car pooling, HOV lanes, etc, but any vacuum will be filed.

And you can't keep people off the roads that should not be there.

BuckeyeGa
BuckeyeGa

@JR,

LA is very different from Atlanta. It's much more spread out and their train system isn't used by everyone. Dallas is more comparable to Atlanta

@BuckeyeGa Haven't been to Dallas in quite some time... but Atlanta is doing it's best to become like Houston... tolls everywhere...

Trump:  (paraphrased) "Bill cheated on Hillary with many women and she hurt those women by supporting her husband, and now Hillary is going to take out negative ads on 'litte Donald Trump'?"

Our spiritual evolution is going to take a serious hit just by having Donald Trump in this presidential election, and people throughout the world know that to be true, even if they use different words that I am using to express the degree of destructiveness Trump is doing to our collective consciousness.

JohnnyReb
JohnnyReb

@MaryElizabethSings never mind the women Bill and Hillary destroyed, huh?

Bill attacked them, Hillary led the charge to shut them up by demeaning them.

Now she has had a change of spots and finds Trump demeaning to women.

Maybe some women will come forward with accusations against Trump similar to what Bill did.

Don't hold your breath waiting.

MaryElizabethSings

@JohnnyReb @MaryElizabethSings

That was a sad period of America's history, JB, but it has already been played out on the world's stage, and the American people have now transcended that time in our common history of Bill's infidelities to his wife, just the American people have transcended the awareness of JFK's infidelities to Jackie, his wife.

Donald Trump gets in the gutter and brings the nation's and world's consciousness to gutter level by bringing up what he perceives will make him a "winner."  Trump is a terrible role model for transcending from gutter level.  Americans, for the most part, do not want to replay history of 20 - 30 years ago in our common consciousness.  We have all moved on, for the most part.  Most people can see the Machiavellian political tactics of Trump and they, like I and many others, should continue voicing how they feel about this man.

Whatever tactic Donald Trump uses, Hillary Clinton will not be intimidated by him and his accusations to change her political trajectory to win this election - for the benefit of the American people and people throughout the world.

DownInAlbany

@MaryElizabethSings @JohnnyReb Hillary was flip-flopping on every major issue long before Trump became a force to be reckoned with.  She doesn't need him to change her political trajectory.  She will say or do most anything to get elected.  She proves that on a daily basis.

Of course, I would not "rather (you) use untruths to build (your) argument."

I simply want you to be intellectually honest with yourself and put these "facts" in realistic perspective to truth by looking at other reasons for Hillary's changing her mind than you are presently considering.

@DownInAlbany Downs you always amaze me!  You never go to your hollow leg, you provided for a candidate, that will make Hillary president, you go for some black market news report, on what will never happen.

You, not us, have given Hillary the White House. Correct what you have control of, get a party.  There is nothing there, no intent, no criminal activity, but you would hope the likes of Trump over this?

@JohnnyReb @DownInAlbany Howdy Gowdy is a former federal prosecutor. If this was such a slam dunk he would have nailed her for lying to federal officials and Congress. Any prosecutor can do that baby step.

Hilarious

You just knew an indictment was coming and said as much

Then you changed to charges will be recommended but DOJ won't charge

Now it is just a pass

Your news sources are changing their talking points and you are mimicking the changes

Sort of like the PP funding issue.. Id said I hate to stay I told you so but I don't

FYI - if you haven't figured it out Trump is in trouble when it comes to the general election. Might want to get out the excuse book and get your talking points memorized just incase

TBS

Trump is in trouble

I'm not concerned in the least. It is you who is concerned and your comments indicate just that

HC could certainly lose it but it's going to take a lot of mishaps on her part

Like I said .. Get your excuse book out and start studying and rehearsing

Guilty in thinking the administration would at least uphold the law.

JohnnyReb

@DownInAlbany I fully expect that Justice under Obama's direction will give Clinton a pass although she has clearly broken the law.

One example is perjury.

She signed a document under threat of perjury she had turned over all applicable documents.

The records clearly show documents afterward were retrieved from her server.

Anyone else would face prosecution.

A lot of unflattering things are said of Trump, but I have to yet hear of him having that kind of legal liability.

And you Libbies, save the Trump University responses, it's not even in the same league.

JohnnyReb
JohnnyReb

@TBS Justice giving her a pass is along way from not having uproar and the voters giving her a pass.

The Left base will support her regardless, it's the rest of the votes you need that should be of your concern.

It's poor commentary on the Left that their main concern is rebuffing those accusing her, not whether or not she is guilty.

@JohnnyReb @TBS Johnny, there aren't millions of white folks left who haven't voted in past elections. They're dying off every day. Your total pool of white voters grows smaller with the passing of time. Here's an easy way to remember what's going to wax your hind end in November - "Demographic trends are not your friend".
