A voice is a voice is a voice …

You could file this under “Things I Never Thought I’d See,” cross-filed under “Things I Never Thought I’d Like,” at least if you’re willing  to close your eyes and just listen to it and not think “oh my God I’m really listening to Cindi Lauper do a country classic!”

Have a good weekend, everyone!

Does anyone else see the  similarity between Cyndi Lauper's movements on stage and those of Elvis Presley?   As well as the similar vocal rolls? Even some similar facial expressions?

I am not meaning to be derogatory to Cyndi Lauper as a female, either.  She has her own unique sexual style, as did Elvis.  In keeping with the times.

I think she just adapted the Elvis moves for that song. I didn`t see those moves in any other vids.

She was just doing some Elvis moves on a country song.

Those moves Elvis had were not original.

Elvis "borrowed" those moves for the originators of Rock and Roll, Chuck Berry and Little Richard.

He also "borrowed" singing phrasing, song writing styles, and showmanship from those and other Rock and Soul Masters.

Jay is the man...enjoyed that immensely. Not like a flaming liberal to appreciate music of the people...or politics of the people...or economics for the people...

Way to go Jay!

I cringed. And Jesus wept.

It was well done. I still cringed, tho.

The best thing in this video is the steel player sight reading at speed.

hey, this girl is a very very good singer, and a pro musician on several instruments, including her dulcimer here -

It's a crazy season.

Sometimes, in a good way.

Thanks, and have a pleasant weekend.
