Welcome to world HQ of Debate Night 2016

(AP)

Welcome to the worldwide headquarters for Debate Night 2016, the best, the hugest, the most entertaining and most informative commentary provided by the nation’s very best political analysts, meaning of course me, myself and I. Many people are saying it.

Yeah, OK, I guess you’re right: Only The Donald and Bill O’Reilly have the egos to pull off that kind of shtick, and I have no ambition to emulate either. But stick around anyway, it promises to be interesting….

Donald said point blank that he never said this:

climate

I think we missing the point on the birther issue.  Even if her campaign brought it up (which I don't believe it did), neither she nor her campaign ever raised it an issue. Whereas the Donald di over an over again.

Lordy, they'll be waving their pom poms well into the night. LOL!

Time to hit the sack. Like any good con I gots to work in the morning.

Its unfortunate to see people get all excited over who is going to be president. Its as if they think this one person can somehow magically make their lives better through some kind of economic benefit or privilege that will help do for them what they can't do for themselves. Kinda sad it is. Nighty night.

Hillary stomped him. Totally stomped him. He kept sniffing like he was on cocaine and she remained sane and on point.

@NWGAL Glad you picked up on the sniffling thing, what's wrong, people have said....LOL  :)

What is worrisome is that Trump could still be elected president in spite of his poor performance tonight.

We must all keep working hard to prevent that.

Kellyanne Conway said she'd advise Trump to be tougher on Hillary in the next debate when she acts smug because Trump showed tremendous restraint.

She's gotta be working on a comedy tour routine.

@StraightNoChaser @Paul42 I think Kellyanne has done an amazingly good job. But like those who worked for Darth Vader, those who don't deliver the impossible die early.

CNN poll 62% Hillary won 27% Trump. Also, Trump lost on foreign policy and economy.

Lots of verbal flatulence by the Orange Clown tonight.

Well expectations were low for Trump so he honored his commitment.  He showed up and then just stood there, drinking water and sniffling.

Steve Schmidt on MSNBC is a former GOP campaign manager for Bush and McCain. He said Trump was a train wreck,

Nicole Wallace, Bush's PR person agreed but said Trump's followers could care less i f he makes sense. So much for sensible GOP talking heads.

Falcons and Saints showed support for protesters around the NFL by joining hands.  I wonder why the preaching patriots did not mention it tonight.

Trump is a fool, when he clowns he does not hold back.  He brings in the entire circus.

Did they run back and take down the "IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH" sign at chump hq?

Early fact checking is brutal against Trump.

They're all in the tank for lyin' Hillary, I guess.

Just like she got all those scientists to say global warming is real.

Your guy says we have to go to other planets.

Doom Classical liberal

@YouLibs

Eventually, quite possibly. But I don't think he's talking about doing it next year or anytime soon.

Hell, your side has a guy who worried about Guam tipping over, another who asked a Nasa scientist if the next astronauts will replace the old flag we left on Mars, and one nut who asked if an asteroid possibly on a collision course with Earth was related to global warming.

And then you had Hilz a couple weeks ago insisting that a regular storm, Hermine, was the result of global warming. My God- talk about a pure science denier. What manner of a fool says that a regular tropical storm is proof of global warming.

@YouLibs Man thrives on BS. What does facts have to do with  a born huckster?

Whew! I dodged one there. Because I'm tired too and didn't really want to start listing example after example. We'll pick it up again soon enough and I'll relate some examples to you that are quite startling when we look back in hindsight.

I got kicked off a site once for listing all the scientific organizations that support the finding of the IPCC.

It's all of them but one.

At one time the American Association of Petroleum Geologists denied the findings of the IPCC. They later rescinded that position and took a neutral stance. Google it.

No other scientific organization ever has.

@YouLibs @Doom Classical liberal

You do realize the IPCC has been quite political in nature, right? And you do know a lot of funding and reputations are at stake, right? Scientists are not immune to the same incentives and disincentives as everyone else.

@CherokeeCounty @Doom Classical liberal @YouLibs

3 things. No 1 is that a good number of the scientists who do believe in the alarmist view also say we are beyond the point of no return where whatever we do we can't reverse it. 2- Obama's own EPA said the proposed efforts would reduce temps by something obscene like .001% 3- If we need to bioengineer a cooler planet we can easily do it with a Budyko blanket. Easy, cheap, and the science is proven.

LOL.  I thought you were joshin' me - Budyko blanket?  So I looked it up and it's really a thing - learned something tonight.

But why not just continue our research into solar and wind power - which is competitive now with fossil fuels - and also has the happy advantage of letting us tell all those 'stan countries to go pound sand.  Rather than pumping more 'stuff' into the atmosphere.

Doom Classical liberal
Doom Classical liberal

@YouLibs @Doom Classical liberal

Nonsense. Funding is an enormous incentive to toe the company line. Secondly, reputations are at stake when scientists take an alarmist view and then can't back it up.

Lemme ask you something that has always amazed me about this study of climate change.

The single largest determent by a wide wide margin of Earths temps is this thing in the sky called the sun. The sun has its own weather systems, cycles, etc.

Does it not amaze you that most of the studies on Earth's climate focus not on the prime determiner of our weather- the Sun, but on factors that are far, far less significant in determining our weather? How does that not strike you as incredibly odd? And what does that tell you?

Doom Classical liberal
Doom Classical liberal

@CherokeeCounty @Doom Classical liberal @YouLibs

I'm all for wind and solar and hopeful for the future of both. Kinda excited. I talked to a contractor a couple of months ago up here in Athens and this guy builds energy free or energy neutral homes with solar panels and everything. Dude told me its dirt cheap to build these homes. I may actually look into it more seriously. I just think that, unfortunately, fossil fuels are still needed and aren't going away anytime soon.

By everybody but the scientific organizations.

I'm going to do this little experiment. I'm going to Google what the National Academy of Sciences, the organization signed into law by Abraham Lincoln that is comprised of the people nominated as the very best in their fields by their peers who serve pro bono to advise our government on matters of science and see what they are saying.

Science is nothing like politics. It is based on verifiable facts that are repeatable by anyone, anywhere, at any time.

Once a scientific theory comes across a single exception, the theory is discarded.

Science is based first and foremost on total reliability.
