It's time to condemn these Conservative rallies once and for all.

@TheDoctor These were self-proclaimed white supremacists. To label all conservatives with the same broad brush does a disservice to the vast majority of your fellow Americans who also look with dismay upon such attitudes. If everyone would quit bundling people into nice little groups which they can label and hate, we'd be taking a giant step forward.

This kind of hate is and has been passed down, supported, ignored quietly tolerated by those who say, "that's not me",from generation to generation.  The only way it stops and the repercussions from it stops is if everyone stops passing down the hate and actively denounces it.  If you wouldn't purposefully give a child cancer or some other harmful poison, don't purposefully infect your children with hate, it grows into Charlottesville, McKinney, Ferguson, Falcon Heights, to the more refined, but nonetheless as harmful and noxious, on college campuses, sporting events, and other places...

@BetsyKerr Where is the well thought out scholarly opinion you referenced?  This is just babbling from Allen West

@DebbieDoRight @BetsyKerr mr bookman's article is comprised totally of one 8-part tweet by him. I guess he considers himself the ultimate authority, the Oracle of Delphi, the oh-so-wise one. He's lazy and doesn't deserve whatever salary he is paid. And his biases are showing.

 Israel is often described as "the only democracy in the Middle East." But in recent weeks it has drawn criticism from human rights organizations by taking steps to ban the pan-Arab news channel Al Jazeera.

Israel has opposed Al Jazeera for years, claiming it broadcasts biased coverage of conflicts and violence involving itself and the Palestinian territories.

The government took this one step further by pledging to ban Al Jazeera's journalists, shutter its offices and block it from the airwaves.

Looks like certain Israelis do not like "free Speech"

@HDB0329

To Terry McAulliff's point "Nobody in America wants anything to do with this ideology".

Father disowns Neo-Nazi son: “You’ll have to shovel our bodies into the oven, too”

“I, along with all of his siblings and his entire family, wish to loudly repudiate my son’s vile, hateful and racist rhetoric and actions,” Pearce Tefft wrote.

He once joked, ‘The thing about us fascists is, it’s not that we don’t believe in freedom of speech. You can say whatever you want. We’ll just throw you in an oven,'” Tefft wrote. “Peter, you will have to shovel our bodies into the oven, too. Please son, renounce the hate, accept and love all.”

chump just mildly chastised half his base.

His rally numbers will suffer so he will figure out a way to remix his statement.

For those yelling about the demonstrators' "First Amendment rights," remember that the Amendment EXCLUDES "fighting words" from its coverage. Those demonstrators were the essence of "fighting words,"  with their extensive use of Nazi symbols and their carried assault rifles.

And torches and sticks......

Hard to garner much respect or sympathy with that methodology.

@OriginalProf - My great uncle fought in WW2  against the very ideology these anarchists were uplifting.  Now it's like we're going backwards instead of forward in history.

Also, lets not go out of our way to heap praise on POTUS if he gets dragged kicking & screaming into pretending like he cares today. Too little too late is a real thing.

@ScubaSteve

I'm on record as saying I'll congratulate him today if he does explicitly condemn right wing racism.

That's a one-day offer.

SFM-Scooter,

Because that is the only racism that matters or even exist to some.

@TetoLeo

Maybe just dangerous racist nutbags carrying weapons, wearing armor, carrying sticks, marching after dark with torches and posing a threat to anyone who disagrees.

I don't think they have much attachment to white people who think like I do.

ScubaSteve

@TetoLeo This is so short-sighted it hurts. This is a president who made it clear that specificity is important to him. He wanted people to SPECIFICALLY condemn "radical Islamic terrorism."

Now, suddenly, it's fine to be super vanilla?

Personally, I don't think it needs to be characterized as representing any sort of political wing. It is white supremacy and domestic terrorism, plain and simple.

 The moon's magnetic field lasted at least 1 billion years longer than previously thought, a new study finds. This suggests that alien moons and planets may also have magnetic fields that can survive for a long time and potentially help shelter extraterrestrial life. – Surprise Finding About Moon Puts Hunt for Alien Life in New Light – Aug.14.2017 https://www.nbcnews.com/mach/science/surprise-finding-about-moon-puts-hunt-alien-life-new-light-ncna791566?cid=sm_npd_nn_fb_mc_170814 via NBC News

Hey, did anyone else note that Trump in his "many sides" statement, remarked about "kids not being able to play outside?"

And saying that we must "cherish our history."

WTAF does that have to do with ANYTHING going on in Charlottesville?

Nothing, that's what. It has everything to do with instilling fear in his dumb redneck base.

Many sides. Many sides.

@Visual_Cortex  Maybe he meant that discussion of history is an opportunity for reflection in the hope of improvement and not just another excuse to be hateful and violent.

BuckeyeGa

@Visual_Cortex  It was a clumsy statement.  Especially "It has been going on for a long time in our country -- not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. It has been going on for a long, long time.

@honested @Infinite Hope @Visual_Cortex   I can appreciate humor.  However, if someone is near who might find it offensive, for whatever reason, then I point out that it's improper.  If it's hateful or continuous, then they are not my friend.

When he made that Obama comment I was speechless. I was like, "WTF! Dude do you even KNOW who the President is now!?!?"
